[ui!] @ Smart Country Convention 2025

Tue, 30. September 2025 - Thu, 02. October 2025

Practical smart city solutions live

The [ui!] Urban Software Institute presented itself together with [ui!] Urban Lighting Innovations and partners such as Teledyne FLIR and Smart City Solutions GmbH at the Smart Country Convention 2025 (SCCON25) in Berlin. Three days were dedicated to smart city innovations, networking, and practical solutions for municipalities.

A particular focus was on the presentation of our new generation of [ui!] COCKPIT and my[ui!] Workplace. The portfolio was complemented by the [ui!] TrafficKit and [ui!] PowerNode solutions, which are already being used successfully in projects in Paris, Baden-Baden, and the district of Rastatt. Visitors were able to see for themselves the practicality of [ui!]'s smart city solutions and take away new ideas for their own projects.

The trade fair also offered numerous opportunities for in-depth discussions, exchanges with partners, and networking. The [ui!] team was delighted with the many eye-opening experiences, inspiring encounters, and the opportunity to show how smart cities work in everyday life.

The event was rounded off by warm hospitality and African catering from the BOA team, which created a special atmosphere at the booth.

Participation in SCCON25 was a complete success for the [ui!] Urban Software Institute, with valuable contacts and confirmation that the smart city solutions meet the needs of municipalities and partners.

The team is now looking forward to the next trade fair, the Smart City Expo in Barcelona, where it will once again present innovation, team spirit, and practical solutions.

The 35th SMART CITY Forum Expert Discussion at SCCON25

The 35th SMART CITY Forum expert discussion took place as part of the Smart Country Convention 2025 (SCCON25) in Berlin. The event brought together experts from politics, administration, and industry to discuss the current and future development of smart cities in Germany.

The participants emphasized that it is no longer just about pilot projects, but about a comprehensive rollout of smart city-relevant solutions. A common basic infrastructure for administrative modernization and smart cities is of utmost importance. The work of the DIN Standards Committee for Information Technology, Working Committee Smart Cities on DIN 91357 is particularly groundbreaking in this regard.

The SMART CITY Forum also decided to submit a position paper to the relevant ministries of the new federal government. The aim is to accelerate the digital transformation in municipalities, in particular through smart, data- and AI-based technologies.

The position paper provides recommendations for action on topics including:

  • Optimization of funding programs, particularly with regard to reuse,
  • Expansion of digital infrastructure,
  • Innovation-friendly procurement practices,
  • Resilience as a guiding principle for data- and AI-based decisions.

Due to limited space, participation in the expert discussion was only possible with a day ticket. The event took place on the first day of the conference at the Meetings & Side Events level. Interested parties could register on a first-come, first-served basis. The SMART CITY Forum is currently awaiting feedback from the ministries contacted on the recommendations submitted.

Further information and the complete position paper are available on the SMART CITY Forum website: https://smart-city-forum.de/
