New on the Frankfurt data platform: smart visits to citizens' offices
🚦 New feature on the Frankfurt Urban Data Platform: Current waiting times at citizen service centres at a glance
The Frankfurt Data Platform – which has been providing useful information on a COCKPIT and in map views on various topics such as visitor numbers, the location and status of electric charging stations, traffic volume, weather, air quality, citizen participation, temperature maps with heat islands, and last year, for the 2024 European Football Championship, an overview of the fan zone on the banks of the Main River – has now been enhanced with a new, smart and important feature.
👓 An overview of Frankfurt's citizen service centres and their 🗣️ opening hours on public days (Mondays and Wednesdays) with visual and timely information on current waiting times. This allows citizens to better plan their visits and, if necessary, flexibly switch to another office – regardless of where they live.
The new information is received by the Frankfurt data platform via an interface to the existing call-up system in the citizens' offices and was developed jointly by the Digitalisation Unit and the Citizens' Office, Statistics and Elections Department – without any new costs for sensors or technology on site. This ensures transparency and user-friendliness for every citizen when visiting a citizens' office.
💬 Eileen O'Sullivan, Head of the Department for Citizens, Digital Affairs and International Relations: ‘Digitalisation creates tangible and noticeable added value. Following the successful use of the UDP during the European Football Championship, we are now transferring the principle to our citizens' offices. This will make visits to public authorities more efficient.’
